About Me

My name is Donald Bruns. I'm a 39-year-old User Experience Consultant. I live with my wife in a cozy, blue Victorian in Moorestown, NJ.

My wife and I own two cats and two huskies. As you might expect, I am constantly picking fur off of my clothes.

In my spare time, I build furniture. I'm currently working on a set of Stickley tables – one for each member of my family.

I am also a life-long martial artist. I hold a black belt in Tang Soo Do, a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and an instructor's certification in Krav Maga. But don't worry – I'm only dangerous to myself.

I look at consulting as a form of teaching, and teaching comes naturally to me. I have a natural ability to energize an audience and to make any topic seem exciting – whether that topic happens to be User Centered Design or the finer points of Israeli hand-to-hand combat.

If the internet hadn't come along when it did, I probably would've become either the college English professor everybody liked, or the the high school vice principal you didn't want to get sent to.
